The workshop started with a presentation by Mr. Mohamad Alem (corporate lawyer and LCGTF member) on ‘what is corporate governance and how can it serve the interests of enterprises, including SMEs and FOEs’. This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Fouad Zmokhol (LTA board member and head of RDCL’s CG Committee) on the benefits of corporate governance to companies, to shareholders and to the national economy. Finally, Me. Nada Abdelstater AbuSamra presented on the many components of Corporate Governance, with specific focus on the questions that journalists and the media in general should focus on – particularly when interviewing owners or officers of companies.
